Pastor Corinne E. Arthur, M.Div. (she/her) an emigre from Barbados, inspired to serve, has held many leadership positions in the church, and love singing in the choir. In her love for sharing the Gospel to all, she has led Sunday School, Bible Study, Confirmation/New Member Classes for the development of new disciples of Christ.
She has taught from pre-school, creating a special space for the little ones, through Adult studies and Woman’s small groups. She enjoys creating, leading, and being involved in Vacation Bible School; organizing and taking various youth groups to GNJ’s Ignite Conferences; and engaging in vibrant community outreach and food insecurity ministries.
As a long-time member of United Methodist Women, now United Women in Faith, interested in advocacy for social justice and missions, she has served as a District and Conference officer. Through UMW, an NGO to the United Nations, she was blessed to serve as part of their delegation to the 2015 Commission on the Status of Women, CSW59.
Beyond the church, Pastor Corinne was a Unit Commissioner of the Cannonball District of the Boy Scouts. She is a Past Grand Officer of the Order of Eastern Star of NJ and served as Worthy Matron of the historic African American Alpha Chapter #288, East Orange which is now merged with Emmaus Chapter #183, in Union, NJ.
Pastor Corinne holds a B.A. from Douglass College, (Rutgers U) and her Master of Divinity from Drew. In an eclectic career in corporate America, in the insurance industry, she has been a Senior Commercial Casualty Underwriter at American Home/National Union Co. (A.I.G.) and a Senior Client Specialist with Aon, among other positions held, working in the world of select and ‘unique and unusual’ risks.
The jewels in her crown are her son Dashiell and daughter-in-law Myra, her step-granddaughter and grandsons.
